Friday's dinners around our house are usually simple. We often have a snack such as hummus and pita chips or chips and salsa, a fewTGIF cocktails and then it's grill time. This past Friday was no different except my bride asked for smokey links. She won't eat a hotdog if her life depended it, but smokey links she loves! Go figure!!!!!
So I picked up some fresh locally made hot brats and pineapple brats besides her smokies. No shots of that cook. But 3 brats were left over and last night after yardwork I put together a nice pasta dish. Not bad for a Monday meal!
It had a chopped onion, 5 minced cloves of garlic, sliced hot and pineapple brats, a bit of giardiniera, oil-cured black olives, 2 yellow peppers, a lg. can of tomatoes, and a cup of merlot. S&P, oregano, and basil for seasoning. After the sauce was thickened the pound of al dente-cooked campanelle pasta was added to the mix. Oh yeah lots of flavor here!
Mangia!!!!
