Guess we can debate how healthy are potatoes, but for sure no science fiction ingredients.
Sliced red potatoes see through thin on mandolin.Into ice bath while waiting.Dry on towel.Spray plate with thin spray Olive oil,and add chips.Spray thin with Olive oil.Sprinkle Sea salt and in our case add nutritional yeast for a kind of cheese taste.
Microwave for 6 minutes until JUST starting to turn brown, you may have to remove a few before rest are done.
These are very tasty when fresh, not bad a day or 2 later, but fresh is the key to YUMM on chips, they are surprisingly really good. Also much cheaper to make than buy, cant beat that.

My wife loves chips. She'd rather have a bag of chips than a box of chocolates!
In fact, no joke, when I proposed to her I hid her ring in a small bag of potato chips and took her on a picnic.
I am definitely going to have to give this a try. Thanks for posting it!
P.S. Don't think I didn't notice the correlation between your username and this post too! :D

Not a home made chip, but if you have not tried them, the baked puffed veggie chips are actually pretty good.
I first tired them as the "Veggie Straws" from Sam's Club, but the wife recently found a bag of veggie chips that look like the ripple cut chips. They are still a puffed product, but they are still pretty dang good. I'm not sure if she bought them at Kroger or Aldi.

Mmmm... going to have to try that!! I love making home made potato chips, and it'd be great to find a healthier alternative to deep frying them.
Have you ever tried sweet potatoes? That seems like it'd be a good experiment too!
Thanks SPUDS! :)

DW,I will look for those,thanks!
BTW,Spuds was a little white wired hair terrier. As a puppy you could hold her in your hand, size of a potato, hence SPUDS! Great dog,but most are arent they?

... Sliced red potatoes see through thin on mandolin.
Looks really good but it seems to me you'd never be able to retune and play that mandolin again.

Made some today Spuds. Very good. Sprinkled with salt and dusted slightly with onion powder. Rhino chips....no pics.
