Hello
Just thought I drop a quick hello. Was "Googling" a topic about another cooker for my patio "I'm sure my wife will be thrilled :P" and stumbled on a thread from this forum - I was impressed with the friendliness of the group. Recently I was turned off by some of the behaviour I saw on a few other BBQ forums so it was timely.
So I'm a married father of 2 (11 boy/12 girl) and between work, house projects, camping, a little golf here and there I find time to BBQ. I love working around the house outside and constantly smelling the smoker and my soon to be meal.
I started with a Bradley - but found it wasn't cranking out what my pals with charcoal cookers or stick burners were doing. So my Performer took it's place. At last I found I was cranking out some good Q. Next came my WSM.....which made my "smoking" life even easier.
Anyways..........I'm no expert but I've learned a few things along the road. The people I serve always like my grub and at the end of the day, that's what counts. So perhaps I can hang around here a learn a few things, maybe offer a few things.
Cheers.

Welcome from Minnesota. We got several great cooks here from Canada......and they are pretty darn nice people too.

Glad you found us. Most members here were invited by someone, but occasionally - an intrepid individual such as yourself finds us - and we are just as happy to have you as well!
We DO strive to be friendly and respectful. It is the foundation of LTBBQ. But, we aren't "stuffed shirts" either, as you will see from how we often joke with one another.
Beneath it all - there is a tremendous amount of talent and skill in this group. And all of 'em are happy to share what they have learned. ;D

Hey Scallywag......I was a Hamiltonian "most" of my life.......went to Westdale. Lived down town, central mountain, east end and Stoney Creek Mountain - nice to meet a local guy.
I owned a Kamado Joe a few years back and due some unforeseen expenses at the time that hit us, $5600 for DD braces for example, I ended up selling it. Sometimes I really miss the ceramic Kamado. So I'm familiar with how they cook - not so much with the pellet grills. If only my darling wife knew another Kamado may find its way back onto my patio one day 8).

If you ever want to see a pellet grill in action let me know.. I can demonstrate over a couple cold ones and maybe you could show me some tips on the ceramic ( I'm still learning that one ) I aslo have a 18.5 WSM at my trailer I use on the weekends.
