Title: Smokin Pete's in Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA

My friend Julie Reinhardt - author of She Smoke - and her husband are partners in this joint.  And a true BBQ joint it is. Walk into the remodeled butcher shop and it smells like smoke and meat. The old meat cases are full of sides that would make a Southern child happy - collard greens, mac n'cheese, and more - finished with sweet potato pie.  Julie is a hoot and the place is fun.  Smack dab in the middle of Ballard - also known as the home of the Deadliest Catch fishing fleet.

Wow - what a great place. I saw a segment about them on BBQ America ( syndicated on PBS ).

Wow!  My sister ate there not too long ago and bought me a T Shirt.  Who would have thunk that "Ballard" would have a great BBQ joint?  Must smell better than dead fish.  I miss that area. :D

Julie Reinhardt is a favorite person, author of She Smoke (http://www.amazon.com/She-Smoke-ebook/dp/B002L7POBU/ref=dp_kinw_strp_1?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2) and a Char-Broil All-Star.
The food is "good" --- best I've found in the NW within a reasonable drive and - because she's like family - I enjoy the experience.

Wow CB when I first saw you mention Smokin Pete's I thought you were talking about my Blog:  Smokin' Pete's BBQ Blog (http://smokinpetebbq.jautaikis.com/) which I use to document my smokes/cooks   ;D 8)  ;)
