Title: New Toy for my Cooking Arsenal
Post by: HighOnSmoke on October 16, 2014, 05:45:54 PM
I was scanning Craig’s List in Savannah the other day and came across
a local ad for a Weber 22.5 Smokey Mountain Cooker.  He was asking
$275.00 for it and claims he only used it twice since he bought it in August
of this year.  I met up with the gentleman this afternoon and he was correct
about the cooker being used twice.  I asked him why he was getting rid of it
and he said that he had bought a 60” Lang Smoker plus he had a patio model
Lang and he didn’t need it anymore.  He told me if I wanted it I could have it
for $200.00.  Knowing very well what the new ones cost I was digging out the
money as soon as he gave me the price.

It needs to be cleaned a little, but it is the newer model WSM with the temperature port.
I will be firing it up on Saturday morning to see how it is going to cook.

In hindsight this is the one I should have bought when I bought my 18.5 WSM.

Great score buddy.  I love my 22 wsm.  My 22 cooks way better than my 18.  Congrats.  And it's the new one with the probe port.  Lucky dog.

Nice score, Mike!  You have enough money left in your pocket for a Uuni 2?  That would really go a long way towards completing your cooking toy collection.  Besides, your boy would just love being able to make his own pizza!!

In the for what it's worth column, I also like that the lower cooking grate has handles on it.  Makes it much easier in the event that you need to remove it in the middle of a cook.

Great score ! ! !
