Tootsie Rolls are the only candy I steal from my daughters' trick or treat bags! Sad to see this.

Tootsie rolls were a key to winning the Korean War when they were accidentally dropped to troops instead of weapons munitions during the Chosin Reservoir battle.

Mike, believe it or not I actually know a guy who is a member of that group here in NE Ohio, that the article is about.   He was one of only a few in his entire company who made it out of that battle.  Next time I see him I'll have to ask about the tootsie rolls.
