Title: Spatchcocked chicken First Cook
Post by: Keymaster on April 10, 2015, 07:57:59 PM
So I waited until last night to fire Ginger up and spatchcock a chicken. I seasoned the chicken with Old bay seasoning because that's what the wife likes.
Took the advice of some forum members and got gloves, wax starting cubes and a chimney starter.

Started the new chimney starter with some Kingsford Original

Put the seasoned chicken on the grill

Spent about an hour admiring the new grill while waiting for the yard bird to reach 165° F

Reached the desired temp and done.

Plated with Buttered carrots. Thanks for looking :)

I think you have practiced on a kettle behind the scenes. That yardbird looks way too good for a first cook  8) 8) Ginger is going to be used a bunch, you can just see it happening  :) :)

Perfect..pretty bird. Might be able to do that next week at the campground too. I'm stealing your name for her too cause mine is the same color. Pam  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Thanks guys, I was getting a little nervous when the Temp started dropping in Ginger and that's when the chicken got closer to Direct instead of indirect cooking method :)
