A BBQ Brethren member (Thingfish) came up with an ingenious method to remove rib membranes using the PBC hooks. Hope you enjoy!
Inserting the hook alongside a bone

Working the hook laterally to separate the membrane

Finishing with traditional paper towel pull

Tablespoon works great too.

I've tried spoons, knives, screw drivers, etc. and the hook worked better for me by far. Was able to slide it under the membrane without tearing and the hook gave me a good grip and allowed me to pull up a larger section of membrane than with other tools. Plus it's fun and cool looking! But different strokes for different folks!
