Title: SV container for Anova
Post by: muebe on June 25, 2015, 10:18:22 AM
I just ordered this from Amazon to use with my new Anova...

Should be enough capacity for anything I want to SV cook.

What is the capacity, muebe? Do you think you will need to do some mods to mount the Anova?

4.75 gallons.

I will just need to cut a hole in the lid for the Anova to travel through.

Good purchase Mike!
Get some Reflectix to insulate.

I went with coolers since they are well insulated.

I use the same one Muebe. Didn't want to cut my lid, so I use foil instead

I am going to use a hole saw to make a hole in the lid for the Anova

I got the same container several weeks ago, cut a notch with Dremel tool in the middle of the long side for the rubber bumper to clear, then leveled off the ridge above it. I used plastic wrap for a cover which works well, but a week later ordered the matching cover and cut out an area to clear the Anova. Works very well and keeps heat in surprisingly well. I also have been using a Vollrath 11qt stainless steel stock pot with great success.

Good idea Rexster!

I am going to get a stock pot for smaller cooks. I like the option of SV cooking large items with the Cambro.

I'm surprised Jerry Brown allows SV cooking in California???

Shhhhhhhhh first it was charcoal grills being looked at. Can dehydrators be far behind?

As soon as he finds out we use plastic bags to cook in we are in trouble ???

I've got one of these coming.  Was going to use it for drinks, but it would also work perfect for SV with the Anova PC.  It's stainless steel lined and insulated like the Cambro units.  3 gallon capacity.
