I hope all the forum members have a nice and happy Thanksgiving Day. I know all the cooking can get hectic but when it is time to sit down and eat, please give Thanks for all the blessings we have and pray for those who may not have those blessings. Please offer up a prayer for all the military men and women who are putting their lives in harms way to protect all the freedoms and blessings we enjoy. For those who do not have any religious affiliation just close your eyes for a second and say Thank You. It can't hurt nothing.
Just to keep this sort of forum related, there are just the two of us here this Thanksgiving. Doing a 7 lb ham in The Big Easy. The wife is doing her almost world famous dressing and potato salad and a bunch of other stuff. She said she might want want to "break Western" and open a bottle of wine.
I am also thankful that I have a place like this where I can come and spend some time each day reading positive and informative posts from people who are a lot like me.

Very nice Ken! Thank you!
The same good wishes to you and your family and to all the forum members and their families!
It is a privilege in itself to be thankful for the blessings that we have! ;D

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. We are sharing the holiday with family. The only thing I contributed are 2 dozen mini Calvados Cream (apple brandy based) cheesecakes, several dozen bourbon bacon brownie bites and a large tray of Buffalo Trace fudge (my version of Dee's Jack Daniels fudge recipe). I miss not having to cook anything else. I will be doing a small turkey after I get home.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and families. I'm making my first turkey in Florida, gonna be fun, only cooking for four, but I can handle it.

A happy Thanksgiving to all :) Wendy has to work part of the day and she wants a rib-eye for T-day Supper. The Smoke is always down for a rib-eye :P

Well said Ken! Hope you guys have a great day together and hope the rest of the gang has a great day as well

Happy Thanksgiving, Ken and everybody else who is popping in for a moment this afternoon. I put a 14.4 lb. turkey in the PBC at eleven and have my fingers crossed that it'll be done by 3:30 or 4:00. Didn't have the time or inclination to do a test run so I'm trusting my guess. If things don't work out, Domino's delivers ::)

Gobble, Gobble everybody. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.
Just me and the hubby here so I roasted a hen, and made oyster-andouille-cornbread dressing for my hubby. We had a couple vegetable sides as well.

Could you take in two more cats? You would not even notice them except one of them is pretty large and the other one is huge.

Great post Ken. I was with wife's family until late last night - so, a belated Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
