I needed to recharge my sourdough starter this weekend, so rather than dumping a cup of it and adding a cup of flour and water to the starter, I decided to make sourdough waffles. They truly are the best waffles IMO! So last night after getting home late from dinner, I started the sourdough sponge that would work it's magic on the countertop overnight.
This morning I added a couple of eggs, coconut oil, salt and baking soda. Got the waffle iron warmed up and here we go! Served with Wisconsin butter and maple syrup, alongside some seriously good Indian Monsoon Malabaar coffee!
A very fine Sunday breakfast!
Oh the recipe for the waffles is from King Arthur Flour. Great recipe!
