Title: Mrs Hikerman Just Wanted a Grilled Cheese

We both had a long day at our respective jobs today and she texted me that we should just have an easy dinner, grilled cheese and a beer and relax. My wheels started spinning!  ??? So here is what we had for dinner!  ;) :D  Oh it was fabulous!  How could tater tots, bacon, and pepper jack not be good? 8)

I've heard of people doing this with a waffle iron. Very cool!

Sure Mike!
You need about 1 1/2 lb of tater tots, nuked 4 to 5 minutes.
A bit of Pam or brush a bit of butter on the waffle iron. Get up to temp.
Load her up with half the tots. Crowd them in. Close lid and push down a bit, but let the iron do it's thing.
Check on it periodically until it's got your color! Pull and keep warm, load the iron up with remaining tots, cook up some bacon, and slice up some pepper jack. When the 2nd tot waffle is done, pile on your fixin's and the other tot waffle, try to close the lid! ;D Again don't worry,  just let the iron do it's job.  You may have to press a bittoo but you'll know it's done when the cheese is melted. Mighty tasty!

At my house "just a grilled cheese" consists of 2 slices of bread and a slice (2 if we're feeling rambunctious) of american prefab cheese and some ketchup. Need a roomie?

Love the tots in the waffle iron, I should pull mine out of it's dusty retirement!
