Title: Food saver help
Post by: FrugalQ on October 20, 2016, 07:03:04 PM
I have the food saver mini. It only uses the 8" rolls.  I recently saw on here someone gets bulk at sized bags on the cheap. Was looking for a website or reminder of where they came from. Otherwise my local Kroger has the f2000 model marked from 119 to $30. May have to pull the trigger on that.

On amazon search foodsaver bags .
I've bought several brands from web restaurant site also.
The 11 in bags are so much more useful!
Go buy that $30 foodsaver now!!!!

Gonna look at those bags and decide on that clearance one. Honestly I got my mini for $5 from a co-worker who got it as a wedding gift and knew she would never use it.  It was unopened. I've had it for ten years at least. But being able to freeze bigger batches of soups and stews is appealing.

You probably saw the post I made about the VacMaster commercial pre-cut bags at www.webstaurantstore.com/     I have their pint, quart, and gallon size bags.  Each pack has 50 bags and the price is very very reasonable.  These are commercial kitchen quality bags (3 ply).  IMO, they are much better than any of the other 4 or 5 brand's I've tried on rolls, and I really like the pre-cut sizes.  These have the raised grid on the full inside instead of just in a strip like some brands do.  No problems forming full vacuum in all areas of the bag.

pint size is 6" x 10" and their quart is 8" x 12" so they both should work for you.

The more packs you buy, the cheaper they are.  I bought 200 of each of the 3 sizes when I ordered.  I will definitely be buying these again and would recommend them with about 5 thumbs up!!!
