Title: Pasta Puttanesca for a Quick, Late Meal
Post by: hikerman on December 03, 2016, 12:40:25 PM
This dish as folklore tells us, is what "ladies of the evening" would serve their "johns" in the wee hours of the evening. It was easily made with items that were tinned, preserved, and were found in most Italian homes. Evoo, anchovies, garlic, salt-cured olives, red pepper,  and tomatoes. This sauce was blended into al dente pasta for a very satisfying meal in minutes.
We had several errands to run after work yesterday and we were both a bit bushed. We could have picked up a pizza on the way home but in the rush didn't do that.  So I thought of this dish and took the bull by the horns and had dinner ready in under twenty minutes, complete with salad, toasted cheesy garlic bread, and good red vino!
Mangia and salute! 8)
