A few days ago i bought this Air Fryer from Sam's Club. The slide in part of it is crap. I have a hard time getting it to Aline with the safety switch, especially when you take it out to shake it & put it back in. I have had such a hard time getting it to Aline, that I forgot about the rear hot air vent & burnt my hand on it. It seems this is bad on close to 50% of these fryers according to reviews on Amazon.

Yep, these air fryers are all the rage now, so it was only a matter of time before we started seeing junky ones flood the market.
Thanks for the heads up!

Which brand did you purchase?
I want to be sure NOT to get that one...

I don't have that one but what I have read and seen is that with the Power Air you need to put the drawer in at an angle. Imagine putting a drawer in your refrigerator. This is the same way with that one a few others. Use a scooping motion to put it in. It will not go in straight the way it is designed. You can google it and look at videos on You Tube that will show you.

WHOA.... ???
First - I am sorry that you burned your hand. I know how angry things like that make me when it happens.
Now - let's just simmer down and NOT jump on the "junk" bandwagon too soon. I don't think a brand is the issue. I do think there is often a tendency to blame an inanimate object when we injure ourselves using something new. Hey - we are all human, and we need to allow for a learning curve - no matter what the new toy is. As for Amazon ...well - it is a coin flip as to whether you really get good feedback there or not. I can post anything I want about a product - whether or not it is true.
I found that the drawer on mine was really stiff, and difficult as well... SO - I removed it, examined the "rails" and put a small amount of coconut oil on them, wiped of excess - and worked in and out a few times. PROBLEM SOLVED.
Flatly - we are here to help one another and try to solve product's various inadequacies, poor design etc. THAT is a large part of what LTBBQ for. This is the world we live in. WE ALL want for products to be produced cheaply..(.but we hate "cheap products" :D ).
Let's try to be a little more positive, take a breath - and talk about those product weaknesses and use our experiences to help grow the knowledge base about all kinds of gear first. We may have to agree that certain things are to be avoided. But I am not going to let LTBBQ become a place where negative tone is a tool for stirring up controversy based conversation.
We are better than that. ;)

Ive had mine from Sams for a week now, have cooked on it three times. Ive noticed that when the unit is hot that it is a little tricky getting the basket back in but its not impossible. I think Mike and Tee just gave some good suggestions. I'll try Mike's idea of the swooping motion when I cook on it tonight, bacon wrapped shrimp :D

I have the Cook's Essential and you have to kinda scoop it in also..I put it in the opening and lift the back a lil bit and it slides right in..took me a few times to get used to it, but I got it now. just sayin .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Exactly as Pam said and there are three YouTube videos stating that.

First off I don't have an air fryer nor do I want one but....thought I'd throw my two cents in here anyway! ::)
I agree with Tim's statement on positive thinking and patience, but I also agree with Cliff in that first production runs seem to be of higher quality on Chinese manufactured items. After that quality generally takes a nosedive. This has been my experience and I now try not to give these impulse items from China space in our home. But to those that do I hope you have better experiences than I have had.

I just bought the Power Air Fryer XL from Sam's only used once now and no problems. On Amazon it says it is made in the USA! Don
Sorry about that I forgot you can't always believe Amazon! I just checked my box and it came from China. Don
