Title: whole chicken in the Air Fryer
Post by: RAD on January 02, 2018, 03:29:15 PM
It has been way too cold to cook outside lately, so I decided to try a whole bird in the Air Fryer for New Year along with some good luck black-eyed peas.

About a 5# bird

Breast side down for 20

Flipped over for 20 more. I did not get the reading on the meat I wanted and added an additional 10 per side.

My plate with the black-eyed peas. Chicken was very juicy and skin was very crisp.

That looks so good.  I have not had black-eyed peas since my last visit to Texas several years ago.  I sure miss them.  My Great Aunt made them with pieces of ham - WOW.  Great looking plate.

I set it on the chicken setting to allow it to cook all the way through without burning the outside.

If I can find it...sure! :D :D  Heck, it may have been cut up into 4" x 4" squares, lightly taped together, and placed on a cardboard roll....knowing me :D ;D ;)

The chicken setting on mine is 370°.
Seems to be about right.
Just adjust the time for size or amount of chicken.
