My Dad had season tickets to the football Giants at Yankee Stadium in the 60's. As a young boy I just loved the steamed dogs sold in the stands from vendors. They wrapped them in a small napkin with a foil package of mustard & passed them from person to person until they reached your seat (yes as many as ten people could touch your dog before it reached your seat ???) One time my dad said I ate seven of them the same as Babe Ruth ate between games in the 20's. Well that is the story he told me ;D ;D ;D
So i have been wanting this puppy for the last few years to use with Guldens mustard.......OK I want to live my youth again. I love dogs on the griddle split & on my Weber charcoal but Steamed has the memories for me.
So I pulled the trigger ;D ;D ;D ;D
Uses We have our Genesis room (Projector room in the basement) Yes I show many Genesis concerts there :D :D :D Hotdogs &
movies go together like Tommy & the Big Easy ;D
Homegating after the pregame party cookout outside we can set this up over the garage in our TV sports room so that
we can enjoy the game & people I can keep eating ???
BBQ/cookouts sometimes you can just set this up inside as you are cooking & it will feed the crowd while they wait. It
also keeps them away from the grill area ;) ;)
Take it with me for parties.
When it rains & people are over. Yes I have other indoor cookers but this one is going to be fun
Cocktail parties self serve finger food
I almost forgot Backyard movies It is hard to run the grill & projector at the same time
Anyway I can justify this purchase out of the use it will get. I called the company & they said beer can be used in place of water...who said warm beer is no good ;D ;D ;D
Lets see if I can still eat seven ??? ??? ???

You gotta swing down to Dodger Stadium Spark and have a Dodger Dog. Boiled in beer and then steamed. You don't even have to root for the "boys in blue" :)

Smoke it seems on the east coast that the dogs are not the same anymore The rolls are even worse......I called the Jets a few years ago to complain & they did not care. It tasted like an old sock. Same with the yanks & Mets & Bruins

Every time I see this thread, I see SB as shorthand for sliding_billy and now can refer to myself in 3rd person as "the SB." :-)

If you like dogs steamed in beer, you're gonna love it.
I have had one for quite a while & I always steam my dogs in a dark lager.
I use it a lot during the cold months (when I don't want to brave the chill outside).
Mine sets out on my back bar ready to use at a moments notice. ;)
We had beer steamed dogs just night before last.
It works great!
One word of advice. Don't put your buns in the steamer before the dogs are completely ready to eat.
The buns get steamed really quick, (to the point of being wet & soggy) if left in for more than a minute or so.
Enjoy. :)

Thanks everyone! I have read about soggy rolls. I hear you put a paper towel down at the bottom & that helps. Thanks for the advice can't wait........I have grown up so I now can have beer ;D ;D The dark lager sounds great
