Title: Spatchcocked Turkey Saturday
Post by: Cajunate on March 21, 2020, 03:08:13 PM

Just put a 15 lb turkey that was spatchcocked and seasoned well with sea salt, black pepper, Cajun Bait Sweet Creole Onion and Cajun Bait Garlic Blend.  then put on the Keg for a lil hickory smoke and then roasting.

Alright, it's looking pretty darn good! I just flipped the bird over and added some pats of butter to melt and soak into the meat. I also plucked an orange off of the tree, cut it in half and squeezed the juice over the bird.

The turkey came out great! I used some hickory wood pellets for a lite smoke flavor which was perfect.

Of course when I flipped it to breast side down I expected the skin to stick which it did but it came out tender and juicy.
I usually inject turkeys but I just seasoned this one a lot.

I kept things pretty simple for this meal...... Stove Top Stuffing and I had some small red baby potatoes that I made into vinegar and sea salt pan roasted potatoes. These came out pretty darn good! And no, I didn't make a gravy for the turkey.

Ultimate sins! How could you make a turkey that amazing without real dressing/stuffing and gravy?

Don't tell Hub.
