I would like to take this opportunity to thank MAK GRILLS for their continued product support. Made in America still means something to MAK GRILLS.
I bought my first MAK 2-STAR GENERAL in June 2010, serial number 171. I had been researching what I needed to do to upgrade my original grill, but decided that I would have to spend a lot of money, and I’d have to do it myself. Earlier this year I heard that MAK GRILLS was offering the MAK 2-STAR trade-in program for MAK owners with grills with serial numbers 1-790. Since I had a serial number that met their trade-in criteria, I decided to investigate this opportunity further. In my mind, the decision was fairly straight forward. I placed an order for a 2020 version of the 2-STAR.
BTW, if you happen to own a MAK 1-STAR GRILL within the serial numbers 1-1092, you may also want to look into the trade-in program. If you have any questions about the pricing, process, etc. please contact MAK GRILLS directly, by phone at 503-623-1234, or by email at sales@makgrills.com.
The following picts detail the process of unpacking and assembling the new MAK 2-STAR together. My good friend Tim Tucker gave me a helping hand in assembling the new MAK. It is definitely a two person job. We made a good team. I provided the brains and Tim the brawn. That comment will likely cost me some bourbon.
Here are a few picts of the MAK as we unpacked it. Impressed with the fit and finish.
Here is a picture of our fearless leader.

I really like the new grease box. It holds 2 quarts of grease. A REALLY BIG IMPROVEMENT OVER THE ORIGINAL TINY GREASE BUCKET THAT CAME WITH MY FIRST GRILL.

Well, out with the old and in with the new.

I have already cooked several meals. It is dirty and needs a cleaning, already.

Mike,
Thank you for your help in using Smug Mug. I thought I may have to call Dee for computer help.

I'm going to call BS on this entire post. We know Tee didn't do anything but hold your beer. :)

I'm totally with Pappy on this one.
The first thing I think when I try to picture Tee as a project manager with tools is what could possibly go wrong. The answer to that is far too long to type in the limited years I have left.
And why would you even tell us if you made judgement call that bad?
I'm guessing he paid for the trade-in, bought a shiny new shirt, cleaned his glasses, and combed his hair just so you'd take photos that made him look like he was involved and competent. You shoulda held out for having him haul the trash and sliding you a few extra dollars on the side.
Jus' sayin'...

Seriously, he was "labor" and I was management. Someone has to provide Tim some guidance (besides his wife, of course).

Thanks Spark! Actually...I was about 15 lbs. less at the beginning of COVID. Gyms are closed, and I am trying to re-asemble a gym in my basement
