....well I sure hope so!
My name is Jeff, and BBQ has been a huge passion of mine for a decade...I've been through a slew of cookers, and have learned that sometimes it's the cooker, and sometimes it's the man or woman who is doing the cooking. In other words, I've been happy with sealed metal smokers, charcoal burning ceramic cookers, and so on. They are all great. Recently though I've dipped into the world of Pellet Grilling/smoking, and I feel like I'm on top of the world. I want to try EVERYTHING possible that can be made in this type of cooker. So here I am, ready to learn from the best, and ready to share whatever I can contribute from forthcoming triumphs.
Cheers,
Jeff

Jeff:
Like you, most of ( if not all) us have tried most or all of the technologies currently available. And some of us, like to keep at least one of each at hand for just changing things up a bit from time to time.
But, having said that - I do really like pellet cooking. It offers technology for great control - but still cooking with wood. What a great combination - yielding some of the best food you will ever eat!
It is great to have you hear. You will find the members here to be open minded, and enjoy the friendly exchange of ideas and recipes.
Welcome home!

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Really nice. Yesterday I attempted to post a pic of some leftover babybacks in my introductory post. It was the first time I nailed the "smoke ring". I found this part of the meat to be sweet, very porky tasting, and of all things, it actually had a "hot dog" delicious flavor. I'm going to try to include it here, but yesterday I was a bit of a geek, as I didn't know how to size the pic for attaching. I'll learn the ropes yet, as I'm also going to take pics of tonight's cook. I'm doing a stuffed chicken breast side down (in a pan) in my cooker that will go for 5 hours at 250°. Right now I've got Pecan pellets in my cooker, and perhaps as I get more into the flavor profiles of the different woods, I'll use different pellets for different foods. But right now I'm fine with just using what is in my grill.
Cheers all,
Jeff
P.S.
Looks like no pic in this post....not sure how to comply with the restriction of 512 KB for an individual pic.

Jeff, using a service like photobucket will make posting pics easier.

And we really have to do that to keep bandwidth and data storage issues from ruining our forum. ;D

Thanks all. Very nice for the welcome, and I mean that. Word of honor, within 2 weeks I will make again what I did tonight. Was planning on taking pics and posting tonight, but the smell of my 5 hour stuffed chicken as it came off of the grill, made me rip into it in a frenzy. For all I know the juices are still on my fingers and ruining my keyboard. Guess this is a tease, but next time the pic AND recipe.
Hope to learn more about this site as I don't know yet if there is an area where folks are just into Pellet grilling...but right now, this is the only cooker I am using outdoors, so I guess that's my focus....on the other hand, the chicken I am talking about was originally done (FOR YEARS) in my indoor oven....but not any more, and that's for sure.
Cheers,
Jeff
