Title: I love freezer finds!
Post by: RG on January 04, 2021, 01:27:40 PM
Today when I came home I wanted something for lunch but didn't want a sandwich and I didn't want to cook anything so I looked in the indoor freezer. Nothing of interest. I looked in one of the garage freezers and found a nice package of Brunswick Stew that I had portioned up in a foodsaver bag. Bingo! Lunch was served :)

Poured up a nice glass of sweet tea and served with some saltines. A perfect Southern lunch.

I basically follow Southern Soul BBQ's recipe. I add diced tomatoes and delete the lima beans. I have my own stew recipe, actually 2, but I have been making Southern Soul stew for a couple of years now. I make my recipe here and there.

I use a pound each of pork, brisket and chicken. The original recipe calls for turkey. I don't normally have smoked turkey on hand or turkey in general for that matter. It makes about 6 quarts.
