Title: Doesn't Seem Like Easter to me
Post by: Smokin Don on March 29, 2013, 10:58:43 AM
With the snow just about all gone it does not seem like Easter to me. My wife & a friend went to Chicago today to spend Easter with our daughter. Our son & family will head up to her in laws in Toledo Sat. for Easter, I get to baby sit their dog! She is pretty good and gets along well with my dog. So for most of Easter week end it's just me & the dogs! They will eat anything and don't require a fancy Easter dinner! I am cooking most of the week end. Some smoked Cajun crackers and a Russian meat soup for today. Take some food to my Mother in the morning and then some brats for supper & have my beer mustard with them. My wife said she should be home Sunday evening for supper so I have some 1 pound pork chops to do up. So I guess that is our Easter dinner.
Meanwhile I will be cooking listening to some loud music and probably drinking too much beer. May all have a great Easter week end! Don

The problem with having grown up kids is you never know where they'll be and family gatherings are a little farther apart.  I'm lucky enough to have the whole crew this weekend, but last Easter it was just the wife and I and a couple of friends.  I guess I'll tell ya' to enjoy the peace and quiet, but, if you happen to be in the neighborhood . . . (my dad always called this kind of invitation "throwing a little water in the soup"  ;) )

Sure hasn't felt like Easter in Texas yet (though in Easter's defense, it is in March this year).  Yesterday got into the high 70's for a stretch, and that was nice.  Then overnight it starting a nasty lightning storm.  Gotta love it when them warm and cold fronts collide.  I'm just hoping for nice weather tomorrow as we have some outdoors stuff planned for the family.  Plus, my wife deserves a nice birthday weekend!  :)
