Title: Chicken breast, jerk pork and bananas
Post by: Wing Commander on July 21, 2013, 07:59:40 AM
Yesterday I was visited by good friends, so I fired up some of my grills to cook a dinner for them.

We had MOINK balls and quesadillas as appetizers:

Then we started with chicken breast on jogurt-cucumber-sauce:

Main dish was Jamaican jerk pork, that was cooked for 7 hours in apple-hickory smoke at 230°F in the egg and was plated with beans:

Thank you very much.

I guess this dessert is easier to prepare than to discribe how to prepare it as English is not my mother tongue. :-[ So I'm gonna give it a try:

First you cut off a slice from the banana's skin on its bottom to give a safe stand to it.

Then you start cutting a "V" into the skin on the banana's upside (opposite side of the stem) and lead the lines of this "V" towards the stem. Now you can roll up the skin towards the stem. Fix it there with a toothpick. Now it looks like a Venecian gondola.

Now carve a slide into the surface of the fruit so you can easily put a piece of chocolate inside. Optionally you can add some brown sugar and coconut flakes.

Now throw it on the grill at 350°F. Meanwhile put a marshmallow and a strawberry on a skewer and stick it into the opposite side of the banana's stem after it has cooked about 10 minutes (I sticked it in right from the start - but that doesn't work very good, because the banana needs mor time than the marshmallow). Go on cooking for another 10 minutes. Best is when the banana skin is colored black.

You can prepare some more skewers with strawberries and marshmallows to add them as sides to the banana.
