Title: Rotissierie Chicken on the Weber Kettle
Post by: veryolddog on August 21, 2013, 10:14:47 PM
Yesterday, I thawed out a chicken that we had in the freezer and set it aside in a zip lock bag with a brine provided by Mad Hunky Meats. After spending the night in the brine and the refrigerator, I prepare the chicken by coating it in mayo and then covering it with Mo Rockin Chicken Spice. Very tasty.

I prepare the Weber today as I have not done a rotissierie anything before. And, I set up the Weber to provide indirect heat while the chicken was spinning on the rotissierie. So this was a fun experience for me as well as a learning experience.

I have attached a video that outlines this process for your review. I had fun and a great chicken dinner. Very tasty covered in Mo Rockin Chicken spice rub. The spice tastes like candy. I had fun.

So here's the video to review the process.

I was checking out the different types of Maverick remote thermometers.  I came upon the Maverick Model ET-75 Remote Rotisserie Thermometer.
Cool.  Now you don't have to lift the lid to check meat temps.
Upon closer observation, I noticed that the ET-75 has a collar that slips onto the spit.  This collar allows the Maverick wire to slip through between the spit and the kettle without any binding.
I have a couple of questions.
Has anyone tried the ET-75?  Is it reliable like the other Maverick products?
But most importantly, will the collar for the ET-75 fit into the space provided for the spit on the Weber Charcoal Kettle Rotisserie?
