Sorry
Less competition is never good :-[
Before Wally World sold grocery's we had 7 chains or local grocery's.
We now have Walmart , Kroger & a couple small independents left ???

Yup, here in the Valley, the only major chain left is Ralphs. I usually shop now at Wal-Mart,Target and Fresh and Easy.

Many, many years ago I lived in Des Moines - loved shopping at the Wobbly Hog! While the large chains may have efficiencies, they also tend to "simplify" their inventory. I enjoy going to the independents to find things that aren't offered at the big box.

We lost the local owned Bruno's grocery chain here in Alabama and saw in the paper yesterday where one of the local Piggly Wiggly stores was shutting down.
