Post by: LostArrow on September 18, 2013, 05:16:03 PM
Got a letter from LA 's president berating all of us for not performing our duty & making our doe quota.
Two of us , Jerry who's always drinking & me  ::) who's cooking & sittin where called out for several years of ineptitude in harvesting does  ???
Well I used to bow hunt before my shoulder messed up , to restart I got this.

??? ??? ??? Yikes, that is scary looking! I'm guessing you are stepping up this year! Look forward to hearing how you use that venison.

Good luck!

I have one in my "toy" collection.  Has a dot sight on it.  Very, very accurate.  I have yet to hunt with it, however.

My neighbor has special hunt privileges with a crossbow like yours because he has a bad arm. e was just out hunting foe two weeks and got skunked or did not bring me my regular hunk-of-deer :)

In Mississippi this is the first year anyone can use a crossbow during any season. We have too many deer.
A cross bow even a 175 lb draw is much easier than a 60 lb mechanical bow to draw.
Very accurate to 35-40 yards.
Very easy to shoot, takes very little practice.
Much better for ground hunting.
Think of it as a short range single shot pistol with a scope.
I have several older friends who have had for a few years.
I bought a kit assembled & sighted in , bought 3 extra bolts, bought a case , & using mechanical broadheads I already had . I've got about $375-$400 in it.
It gives me the month of October to hunt that I haven't had for several years.

Now if you can pop a couple of does in October (the sooner the better), maybe they'll let you go back to your routine "camp life" so you can enjoy the benefits of membership without all the hassle of having to actually hunt.
