I received my Ortech controller today and installed it on the TJ. The other day I received my folding leg kit
so now I can just throw it in the back of my Nitro and go! Controller works likes it suppose to holds fairly
steady on the TJ. I am going to add some firebricks to the inside just to help stabilize the temps a bit better. It looks
real tiny compared to the monster Grid Iron!

right on. new stuff is always good for our smokers.
-
Very nice. Glad it's working for you!

I did exactly what you are doing (long time ago) greatly improved my cooks.

You can also use some concrete bricks like I did. They really help to stabilize the little guy.
-
Cool stuff.

Sounds like you got a nice little portable smoker now.
What is your total cost with the Jr & the upgrades?

The Junior cost $299 since I got it at Costco. Picked up the leg kit from Traeger for $58 and
got the Ortech from Ebay for 83.00 that includes shipping. Total cost was $440.00. The Traeger
junior Elite on line is $449.00 and that is without the leg kit and I have heard too many stories
about the Traeger controller so that is why I went with Ortech.

Sounds like that was the way to go then. $440 is not a bad price at all for a portable unit with the control like that.
