Title: pretty good ribs
Post by: sparky on October 14, 2013, 09:27:21 PM
been using my mak lately.  It's easy to use and it lets me work around the house (roof) and still cook killer ribs.  tired today from being on the roof.  so silent movie night it is.

I thru my ribs and a cut up a peach in a bowl because my wife (who is at the cabin w/ my daughter until the roof is finished    ???  I am not a contractor   >:( ) told me to eat some fruit.  I must say it was a nice fresh touch.

got a bunch of milk, paper towel roll and a bone plate.  i'm good to go.  must be some baseball on.

I will say that finger taste of the sauce was ok.  when you put it on food and cook the sauce.  oh my gosh!  70% of all the rubs smoke tells me to use are ok at best (don't get your feeling hurt I still love ya).  I wasn't expecting much from the sauce.  I was shocked.  it is really good.  really good.  3 tongues up sauce,  :P :P :P.

Just picked up a jar of that sauce tonight. I gave it a finger test myself and was pretty good but really sweet. I imagine it mellows a bit after cooking.

Ribs look really good Sparky and I am going to have to sauce some ribs with it too 8)

Love the fruit idea.  should have tossed them on the mak while you were setting the sauce.  They look tasty to me.

Grilled peaches added to the bowl of ribs would HAVE to be good.

Sparkey, you confirmed my notion that "less is more" when it comes to rubs on ribs.  I have never had real good results when I've plastered 'em over with a rub.  Your "sprinkling" looks good and it seemed to do the job well.  Now, if I can just get my sauce to set like that...

Since Sparky said so. I'm going to check my Walmart for the sauce. He has street cred with me ;D

I thought you sold the Mak? I really can't keep up around here with grills coming and going. ???

not this one.  this is the one that came back to me.  its serial #69.  i can't get rid of this one.  I sold two 1 stars and one 2 star (friends and family mostly).  out of the 4 mak grills i have owned only had to replace the pellet boss on one of them.  1 star #315.  the old runs run like a champ.   8)

i don't get to drink until i'm done for the day.  my wife won't let me drink and roof at same time.  it's probably better.   :(
