Title: Miracle Grill Mat
Post by: pmillen on February 08, 2014, 07:48:02 PM
A salesperson was cooking on this Teflon sheet (https://www.buymiraclegrillmat.com/?mid=4876091) at a Home and Garden show this afternoon.  It appears to make a grill into a griddle for $20.  I may not use it soon or often but I thought, "That may come in handy."  And it was a good pitch.  They're hard to resist.  (Anyone want to buy a 45-year old Shopsmith, used only five or six times?)

Looks interesting but I question whether I would use it more than once. I have lots of "Gotta have" toys
that I use once and they sit on my shelf or in the BBQ shed.  ;)

Interesting product, but yeah it would just sit in the "pile."

I saw something like this (may have been the exact same thing) being demo'ed at the Ohio State Fair this past Summer. I'll sure be curious to see how it works for you.

Well my $.02 is that this is just a gimmick that might work, but not as well as a real griddle. I own 2 of these:

One of these:

And several other of the griddle style skillets by Wagner Ware and Griswold and the 24x16 inch cast iron griddle that came with my 3 burner Camp Chef stove.

If you want "non stick" in a telfon style this is a great griddle and I own a couple of them I used in the motorhome. I mostly use in it in the oven for biscuits and cookies.
