These mods will fit right in with the Old School way of cooking Lost Arrow and I like to do.
The Quality Grill works so well for indirect cooking but after all it is a grill and the ash pan is too shallow for 6+ hours of ash that Kingsford will provide so what to do........
Had Mark over at Quality make an ash pan and a big charcoal basket for those long cooks. The nice thing about having the grill Mfg make the mods is that everything fits like it should:
Ash pan has handles and the charcoal basket has one side sealed to protect the inside of the grill

Ash pan sits in the factory ash tray in the bottom of the grill under the heat reflectors

The charcoal tray sits on the charcoal grate

Bring on the briskets!!

That is a great mod smoke! Looks like it would be easy to slide the charcoal box over for direct grilling to finish your cook ;)
I hope the manufacturer appreciates your input and updates his cooker for future buyers.

Thanks Muebe!! Mark has incorporated double air intake vents into all of his grills instead of the one. If he includes this mod to his stock units he could start calling his pits smoker/grills!!

Yes and greatly open his potential market of buyers.
He should utilize your input on other pit designs he has. I am sure you would not mind testing other pits for him ;)

There is some extra room on the patio right now... ;)

Love the idea!
