Hey gang! Apologies for the long break from posting...I missed sharing and learning so much!
My lovely DW got me a spanking new SRG for my b-day! She said I always talk about getting one but never pulled the trigger. She gave me the proverbial push to make it happen.
My old TBE has been lovingly used without pause and will probably get cleaned up nice and given to one of my buddies that has "always talked about it" but never got one.
Anyways, just wanted to share the joy and will be back often seeking advice in this new to me gadget from the original TBE. Even better, posting pics on new exciting experiments! Maybe try catfish 2.0!
Cheers
Dan

Good looking unit, Happy Birthday ;D

Best of look with the new cooker.

Congrats Fishhawk on your new SRG! And Happy Birthday! What's your first cook gonna be? :-\
Lots of great eats are posted here using that cooker, good luck using yours!

I'm thinking the first cook will be pork butt. Something the old TBE has seen dozens of. Will be fun to see the differences between the two. Naturally wings are high on the list! I have a nice brisket that will push my limited skill set but up for the challenge. Finally, definitely going to have another run with catfish again.

Congrats! That is a good upgrade ;)

Congratulations and happy birthday! Those sound like excellent cooks, but you have to try some "baked" potatoes as well - you'll never want to do them any other way. Have fun and share your experiences.

X2 - whole chicken as well - never had chicken as tender and juicy as is cooked on the SRG

Put it all together this morning and looks like I got an SR model :). The G part is missing from the package! Calling char broil now to get the cooking grate. Anyone else run into this?
-
No, mine was complete. However, over 95% of what I cook in the SRG is in the basket - poultry, wings, taters, etc. I use a wok on the SRG for outdoor stir fry. I really can't remember the last time I used the grill - for grilling I use other cookers.
