I just pre-ordered the Uuni 2! I have a buyer in line already for my old Uuni once the new model arrives. It was the only way I could get the CFO to approve the purchase 8)
Expect a full and detailed review once I get my grubby hands on it ;)
-
Excellent!! I want one too
-
Looking forward to your review
-
I'll be watching this one. I have already started working the Tower to buy this as my next birthday present. It sure looks good to me.

Is it there yet...? Is it there yet...? ;D ;D ;D

Looks like it will be at least a few more weeks before they finish production from what I have read. I sent them an email to find out when I might get mine.
Also it looks like the Uuni 2 no longer uses a fan but instead the chimney is what creates the draft now. Interesting...
-
let me know if your buyer falls through.
-
I got an email from Kristian. He is getting ready to fly the first shipment to the US to speed things up instead of transport by ship and one has my name on it ;)
Great customer service!
RAD your next in line if the deal falls through.

So I just got my official conformation e-mail that my Uuni 2 has shipped.... Finally!
-
Hopefully, the one for my son in law is in that shipment also. Dee
-
Just got my confirmation as well - the delivery window is a bit wide (August 14 - 24) but it is on the way!
Any word on yours, Dee?
-
David, I looked at the tracking info earlier and it projected August 14th as the arrival date. Checked about an hour ago and it says the 15th. I can't stand it! I'm so eager for Brad to get it. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve. Dee
-
Dee, I know what you mean. It is bad enough that I want to try it, but to imagine the excitement of giving a surprise ... gotta drive you crazy!
-
Mine will be here by Saturday! ;D
-
Can't wait for your review. I want one soo bad.

Ok - now I am excited. Checked the tracking number - says delivery on Saturday... What to do first?

Make some dough and get your ingredients ready ;)
-
My son in law's arrived at his house this morning. I won't hear from him until he gets home tonight. My daughter is excited for him to make homemade pizza this weekend. He makes great homemade dough, mozzarella, pasta, and many other things. It'll be see what all he does with this thing as it will with David and Mike with their's. I'll get him to bring it to the Gathering so we can all see it.
The Uuni 2 has been out of stock in England and there appear to still be some available in the US if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the update, Dee. I look forward to hearing about your SIL's reaction and thoughts. Also looking forward to muebe's thoughts as he was an early pioneer of the Uuni.
I am going nuts thinking about what pizzas to make first. I have a bunch of dough in the fridge just getting ready. I am looking forward to the fast cook of small pizzas - opportunity to make a lot of different simple pizzas - perfect for sleep overs, parties, etc. Make up and pull the dough, lay out a variety of sauces and ingredients - everyone can make their own pizza - sounds like fun!
-
I am excited to get mine. From what I have seen so far it will be worth the wait. Looks like he really thought out the re-design of the new unit.
Stainless, legs that fold, removable and dishwasher safe aluminum plate, no batteries or fan is required now, easier to load with pellets and light, cooks hotter and faster....
-
Yep - all looks fantastic. Just excited to get it on my deck! My next door neighbor makes fantastic bread he wants to try it too.

Is it here yet?

Bad Pappy! :P
-
For making us wait, I want a full video of you putting it together and seasoning it.
Then I want pictures of pizza being cooked in it ;D
-
Brad got his today and was putting it together this afternoon. Talked to him briefly when he called me while I was down at the church helping prepare a Chinese meal. He seemed very, very pleased. I asked him to put a picture or so here when he got things together which he should be able to do with no problem since I trained him on how to do it. My oldest daughter said he posted on Facebook about it....whatever that is.
I would imagine Brad, David, and Muebe maybe some of the first, if not the first, in the US to get the Unni 2. I understand they are sold out in England.
Dee
-
Kristian had trouble getting them to the U.S. Then the shipment was held by customs because of different shipment on the same plane that was questionable.
I felt bad because originally he was sold out here but I believe many people gave up waiting and asked for refunds. So that is why he has some available now. They should ship quickly since they are already in the U.S.
I hope those customers who gave up waiting hear about them shipping and reorder.

I know it is silly, but just checked the FedX Tracking number - says it is in St Paul (sister city) and should be delivered tomorrow. I haven't ben this excited about a delivery since I believed in Santa Claus!

Brad has some difficulty putting it together because apparently it has double chutes or something and that was not covered in the video and he just happened to catch a glimpse of it after seeing the video a number of times and got it fixed. He'll do his first cook this morning and will also bring it to the Gathering.
We should have a great variety of cookers there. We'll have four RecTec (if all goes well on that), I'll have an SRG, MES, and a brand new three burner Camp Chef I have not unboxed. There ain't no telling what Tee will bring since he's got so many different things. Terry will most likely bring some of his stuff from LA (That's Lower Alabama for the uninformed). He's got a single burner that's like a jet engine. We have a commercial gas stove in the kitchen. I don't know what else is being brought but we gonna have plenty.
If y'all ain't planning to be there recheck your schedule and see if you can make it.

Let me know if you need me to call in a bomb threat ???

$299 is a bit spendy for a stainless steel box with legs. Just my opinion.

It is a bargain compared to the cost of a full size wood fired pizza oven.
Heck I wouldn't spend $299 on a pair of shoes but people do.

which is why I think there needs to be a pizza lid with a side window for the 18" OldSmokey ;)
That old smokey is looking better everyday Jack :)

Except for the fact that cutting a pizza slot in the lid of an 18" will make the lid as flimsy as the bottom on OS extended legs. Which could not only be dangerous but as happened to me, a tip over has made the Old Smoky just Old. With a flimsy, easily-bent, oval bottom it can't smoke anymore. So now it's just a very bad lightweight grill! My OS tipped over in wind, but OS won't tell you this about their extended legs before you buy them, but rather after you buy they state that you should not even clean the grate while on the grill with extended legs installed. So in essence you get what you pay for. The stainless Uuni2 @ 299.00 is likely a very good deal in comparison to the Old Smoky, which judging from mine may be in the trash shortly, at less than a year old! Buyer Beware!

I'm a huge fan of the Old Smokey's, ordered some extended legs for my 22" and took them off. Just seemed to rickety. I have no problems with the standard height of the legs.

Well Good Morning Everyone! I have received a surprise Birthday present the other day and its a beauty, the brand new UUNI 2! So it took me a few to put it together, not too quick with that stuff and the directions were quite helpful, for someone else!
So I finally got it together, made the pizza dough and then realized I didn't have my torch, so it made it difficult to get lit, but we overcame that. You can see the progression of the pics below, the hardest part was keeping the pellets stoked, I ranged the temp from 758 to 454, need to figure out a better way to keep it going. But with that said, it is COMPLETELY AWESOME, i do not see anything else being eaten but pizza for quite awhile!
