At the local meat store this morning and could not believe what they wanted for back bacon. Sure am glad I make my own :). A picture of theres and mine. I made at least six times more for around 24 bucks. (http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/18/uty3y9e6.jpg)

Do you prefer the pea meal or corn meal?
To tell the truth I don't like either one, I make it for a lady that lived in southern Ontario who move up here. She said here mother cooked it all the time and she missed not having any. We really don't see it in the stores to often and when its available its pretty expensive.

Will be making some soon with belly.Up to this point made a lot of buckboard bacon, nothing like your own greatest ever and CHEAPER too, gotta love it.

Looking good.

Wow, that is pricey! $23.99/kg = $10.88/lb.
I bet your homemade Back Bacon tastes better anyway.
-
Yours looks a heck of a lot better than store bought!
-
Yours looks better Devo!
And knowing it costs less makes it look even better ;)

Devo - the Cider Mill bacon recipes that Tenthunter and HighOnSmoke have posted here work fantastic on "Canadian" - or back bacon ( funny - I never heard it called "Canadian Bacon" in Canada... ;D) after brining it - I roll mine in red pepper flakes - then smoke it.... Love it.
