I was a car guy and worked for GM over 48 years as a field service dealer contact person. My first car was a 1937 Buick Straight Eight Coupe; long hood and short rear, no one could hardly sit in back seat, engine coolant was alcohol, next was a 1952 Ford Sedan Flat Head V-8, I carried a gallon can of oil and had to put some in on every gas fill up; next was a 1955 Olds Four Door with a 4BBL carb and 4 speed automatic, I thought this car was fast in its day; next a brand new 1965 Corvette Convertible, paid $4325 for it; next a 1968 Corvette Convertible 427 with 3 two barrel Carbs, a fast car. Over the years working for GM, I got a new car or truck to drive about every 3 months. Could order and drive pretty much what I wanted except limited Corvettes. I drove everything from Vegas, Chevettes, 15 passenger vans, Citations, etc. etc. Some of those cars were not good, but GM did build some good products. All those new cars, kinda made a new car not much of a big deal. I am now and retired, and drive an old man's 2000 Buick Century. This car has a 3.1 liter V-6, and believe it or not I can push 33 mpg with it when I drive it easy. If I had a lot of extra money, I would like to get a new car, but now all the money goes for kids and grandkids.
