What is your traditional New Years Meal?
« Reply #-1 on: December 31, 2014, 03:34:32 PM »
My New Years meal consists of Black Eye Peas, Corn Bread and Collard Greens as the have to have meal.  Daughter and SIL will be here so I am adding some pulled pork to the menu.   Still had a smoked butt in the freezer so will thaw it out and put it in the crock pot with some apple juice.  Will put the Black Eye Peas in the crock pot tonight with a ham hock, onion and garlic salt and wake up to a nice smelling kitchen.

So what Y'All going to be cooking?

Enough ain't enough and too much is just about right.

My traditional New Years meal used to be anything I could keep down after all the booze  8)   But that was another time  ;)  We are going to hit Toni's Mexican Food by Lake Gregory tonight and hit the hay early and say good-bye to this miserable year............

A Safe Happy New Years to all  :)

We will be having smoked brats and homemade sauerkraut. Pork and kraut has been our good luck meal on New Year's Day for a long time, and my wife fixes knopfles, drop noodles to add. I will also have a dish of black eyed peas in honor of my Southern cousin in KY. When I was young I was a little like Smoke!  ::) Don

Pork and kraut (my wife's version).  We did it for dinner today instead of tomorrow.

Everything sounds so good..I'm having pulled pork and homemade sauerkraut over mashed potatoes. Might have to do another batch of pop overs, they were killer last night. Making homemade cinnamon rolls for in the morning. Gotta game to watch at 8:30pm. Go Buckeyes.  Pam   .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Ribeye steak for me, grilled shrimp for the wife.  I can't remember ever having anything different.  We always go out but are home early.  The last few years we've gone to Fatz, using gift cards we got for Christmas so its free  ;D
