North Dakota Football and Hockey
« Reply #-1 on: January 10, 2015, 12:14:35 PM »
Those of us with ties to North Dakota are justifiably proud of the University of North Dakota (UND) hockey program.  The Fighting Sioux are rather well-known.  (The NCAA ordered them to stop using the Fighting Sioux name.  They have not yet selected a replacement.  I guess they're the Fighting No-Names.)

Less known is the North Dakota State University (NDSU) football team, the Bison, that has won the last three NCAA Division 1 FCS National Championships.  (The Division 1 FCS was formerly known as Division 1-AA.)

NDSU will play Illinois State in an attempt to win their fourth consecutive championship today.  You can watch it at Noon CST this afternoon on ESPN2.

Go Bison!

Go Buckeyes!

Whew...

I am glad you explained the difference Paul. From the title I thought that football and hockey are the same game this time of year in Nor' Dakotah!

 :)

It sometimes is for many North Dakota football teams playing on ice and snow.  But the Bison have been playing indoors in the FargoDome since 1992.

Thanks, Paul. I grew up in ND and am a graduate of NDSU and will be watching - Go Bison! The rehab center my dad is in has a number of NDSU fans, I know they'll be watching too.

I don't care what classification or conference you are in.  To win as often as they have speaks volumes for the coaches, players, and fans---the three legs of a stool in sports.
This post may contain misspellings, grammatical errors, disorganized sentence structure, misquotes, and lack a coherent theme.  These elements are natural to the process of writing, and will only add to the beauty of the post.

Whew!  As tense as any game I've ever watched.  More suspense than a Hitchcock movie.

Two really good teams led by two really good quarterbacks.

I had to put a nitroglycerin pill in my beer.
