The green stuff are cactus ( nopales) this would need to be grilled to a med well.

The stuff on the little cast iron is just chorizo.
18.5 WSM, 14.5 WSM, 22.5 Black OTG, 22.5 Blue Perfomer, 22.5 Old red head (patent pending), Jumbo Joe, Smokey Joe, Weber Q, Weber Genesis.
Cast Iron disc and a comal for tacos that sit on a stand and use propane burner.

I looked it up.  Prickly pear.  I thought that I recognized it but I didn't know people ate it.  I ate some cylindrical cactus once.  It reminded me of okra.

Prickly pear grows in some Nebraska locations and is the bane of the hunting dog.  My dogs even found it in North Dakota.

I think I'll harvest some on my next hunting trip.

No I havent.  Looks like a good place to go. Unfortunately it's like a 2 hour drive for me.

I love nopales and sliced into nopalitos, and cooked in a skillet with some bacon....like a better green bean ;) ;D
