I do have to say I really like the looks of these grills. Also, have to admit I am a sucker for Danish design - B&O stereos, Skagen watches, furniture... I really like the minimalist look combined with excellent performance.
Clearly customer support and spare parts, etc. will be a major factor in making a buy decision. It is interesting to see CB take a different road, I hope it will be supported with the "back of house."
Assuming they are successful with support, I would definitely look at one of these if and when I "need" a new grill (yeah the whole need vs. want thing...)
Back in the mid 80' s one of our customers had a B & O stereo system. There were no buttons on it at all. Completely touch sense with a sleek aqua blue glass top finish. You had to know where to touch it to get it to show the button locations. That may not seem like much, but back then it was a huge deal. Sound that was outrageously clear. The kind of sound that was clear enough at volume you thought you could talk over it but then realized no one could hear a word...
Could still put most stuff to shame today.
I am still using a B&O turntable from the 80's - works great - finding a stylus can be problematic...
But it is rock solid and spins my vinyl perfectly - totally manual - I love it. Like a fool, I sold the rest of my B&O equipment many years ago, got a good price (about 1/3 what it would cost to buy it back today...
