We lost a great one.

Red invented the Bakersfield sound. He was one of the original musicians on Okie from Muskogee and wrote a bunch of songs for Merle Haggard and Buck Owens.

I bet Red and Don Rich are picking up a storm in Heaven. Love that Bakersfield sound........

Dang...I hate to hear that.

Vince Gill and Paul Franklin made an album a couple of years back call "The Bakersfield Sound". It is a collection of some of the best songs of that era by Buck Owens, and Merle Haggard. If you you don't have it Scott - the next time you are at a Cracker Barrel - they have it there. It is as good as any cover album can be. It is that good.
