Very interested in purchasing one as a solid weeknight grill. Wondering what you SABER guys/gals have to say...

Just my 2.43 cents worth ( figuring in inflation that we "don't have..." ::) ;) )

Saber is part of Charbroil. I have looked at them pretty closely - and ...frankly, I still think that the Weber Genesis line is better built. And less money. And with a long, successful history. And legendary customer service. And available everywhere.

Charbroil has only been producing this product line for a few years. And - it is not intended as an insult to Charbroil...but they are a company founded on a market strategy of "cheap". Most bang for the buck...but the bang has a limited lifespan. One has cause to wonder about the materials selections in the Saber - in that - it would be a difficult task to convince me that the ingrained design mentality at Charbroil ( low cost, many features - but not great durability ) would not influence or over-ride the quality of materials selected.

My top 3 choices:

1. Weber
2. Weber
3. and..uh - Weber

They have a tried and true, durable, reliable, reasonably priced product that will not let you down. There may be others with flash or pizzazz....but remember: high quality outlasts fancy and stylish...every time  ;) 8)

I've been a long time Weber guy...thanks for bringing me back to my senses guys. Sometimes when a guy just wants to try something it takes a few buddies to reel him back in...thanks buds :)

I looked at them as well, and was not impressed at all. The Genesis has decades of success. Bargains on used ones are easy to find, with so many folks downsizing and moving to places where no grills are allowed. I like quite a few tools in my shed, but for a gasser it's going to be a Weber.
