Get one of these and you can hang 6 to 8 racks of ribs....

Nice,  I hope they have one for the 22.5 " by the time I get one.  I used one this weekend for competition and loved it.  Barely touched it the whole time....  I have already put a bug in the wife's ear about this...

I do have one of those racks for the WSM.  I used it for hanging kielbasa and other sausage.

I've not tried it with ribs though.  I have noted in lower temp sausage smokes that the temp at the dome and at the lower end of whatever is hanging is not as even as it is at a high temp smoke (bigger swing that at top vs lower grate).  I have been flipping the sausage when I use that rack.  So if anyone tries ribs in this rack, just be aware you may need to flip end over end for same reasons.  Temp probe in the meat will confirm if flipping is needed.

Try hanging some ribs....Jus put a hook in them about the 3rd bone down and crank up your WSM to about 275b to 300 .

I've had an 18.5" WSM since 2004. It hasn't seen much action since I got my keg. No getting around it, if you want to cook racks flat they need to be cut. One thing you could try is shoehorning them. Place the large ends to one side just inside the water pan edge vertical. Take the small ends and fold back over to the inside of the water pan edge vertical and affix with skewers. Should be only a couple of inches and if the small end is thin enough the folded.over section will cook evenly to the thick end. On the top grate you could.sort of jam the ends in between and take the tips vertical between the handles.
