I’m making a big turkey on the pbc for family. About 15 people. The ladies make the sides. All the traditional stuff. We have a vegan who’s bringing tofurky and I think that’s what I’m gonna have this year

I usually brine my turkey with homemade brine mixtures, inject with butter and garlic powder, and then deep fry.  I picked up an interesting Turkey Brine called Turkey Brine by Rodelle at Costco.  It is a dry mixture then using water to make the brine.  It has a lot of interesting spices including salt, sugar, cranberries, exhausted vanilla beans, allspice, apple, black pepper, garlic, orange peel, rosemary, thyme, bay leaves, and sage.  I wanted to try something different and it looks like it might be good.

This reminds me of the "Everybody Loves Raymond" episode where Marie made a tofu turkey to everyone else's distress. Funny.

We will be doing seven turkeys this year. We will be at my brothers diner for Turkey Day.

My brother is giving away free turkey dinners this Thanksgiving for the lonely or less fortunate.

Wendy and I will be having our supper on the fly this year...............
