Made Some Jerky
« Reply #-1 on: June 11, 2013, 04:35:02 PM »
Started with a small 24.44 pound Top Round

Slice it all up and put it in the marinade for the night. This is one of three containers

Load up the Cabela's 80L

About 9 hours later the last of it comes out and into the Paper Bag for a 10 minute rest and toss around

Plastic bag it for an overnight in the fridge

Stuff into Vac Seal bags and get ready to put in freezer. Get phone call from Mom asking what I am doing find out that Step Dad is out and would like some more jerky. POOF!! 6 bags gone, one got a pinhole and lost its seal. Eat that one first.

1 day later and time to open another bag!! I might have some left for the Smoke Out in August

Looks great Chris. Did you use liquid effervescents of smoke, I use it when just using the dehydrator. I have two dehydrators now so I might be able to handle that mammoth size whole packer. Did you hand slice all that meat? A lot more work than a person would think goes into making jerky ;)
