Not much around anymore. Respect has also seemed to be gone by the way side.

to know
we can actually still secede since Texas joined the US as a sovereign nation by treaty
we are the only ones
even Gov.Perry was talking about it last year

I think there are more and more ready Texans than the federal government is aware of.

Texas certainly appreciates self reliance and minimum government but there are also other bastions around the country that are very much in line with those same thoughts. It is easy to say that the Alaskans, and the folks from both Dakotas share those same thoughts along with the people from Idaho and Montana.

What is interesting to note as an example of this is: if you drive from one end of Texas to the other, which is considerable, I might add, there is enough oil underground to keep the US going for another 100 years and more than in the middle East not including the new oil discoveries in the Dakotas, New Mexico, Montana, and Alaska. With all those new found reserves of oil, that could keep this country going not including the shale and and the sand extraction methodologies, based on the current technology, the price of oil would drop to $1.00 per gallon overnight if the Federal government would unleash the Titan.

When the Federal Government tries to play interference with a market driven economy, and it's policies are clearly anti fossil fuel, the price of gasoline to the consumer will be high and driving all consumer products to a new high. In addition, what the Fed does not realize is that one its biggest weapons in conducting foreign policy is oil production. If you can crush the middle east, then the great Sheiks will not have the money to subsidize the "terrorist" organizations let alone fund their own countries to stay in power. And, oil can be a hellava bargaining chip with China as it steals American innovation and technology to manufacture cheaper goods.

Unfortunately, Texas and other hardworking people from all over this country are going to have their tax dollars used to bail out Detroit. This does not seem quite fair, does it?

Just thinking out loud.
