Just doesn't make sense to me.........you hear more about black friday on tv and the radio than you do about Thanksgiving  :(

Unfortunately not enough of us feel this way and force the retailers to stop this nonsense.  I would prefer that there be no shopping until Monday at the earliest.  I'm pretty sure that thankfulness deserves a 4 day weekend.

Most definitely agree! Around here you can go into any of the big box stores and you see Christmas being put
up in late September and early October. It is not much better with the military exchanges or commissaries. It is
all about making the big bucks.  Tradition means nothing to them!

I actually volunteered to work today on Black Friday (I normally don't work Friday) at Academy Sports. Went in at 4:30 and there were tons of folks waiting out in the cold and dark to get in we we opened at 4am. I spent the day at the gun counter walking guns up to the front to be purchased. We sold a LOT of guns today. It wasn't as busy as some other retailers and most all of our customers were nice and polite. I was ready for a cold beer when I got off however.
