What I'm cooking today
« Reply #-1 on: January 07, 2014, 02:49:55 PM »
Put on a pork butt that I injected with a mix of mango nectar, soy sauce, a generic pickapeppa sauce and some Bolner's Grocery Mix seasoning last night. Rubbed down with some seasoning from Bellville Meat Market and Chupacabra seasoning. Plus a rack of spare ribs that I trimmed down to St Louis style and seasoned with Bolner's and Chupacabra seasoning. I'll smoke the ribs till almost done, then slather them down with some Rib Candy and grill them to get them glazed up nice and hot. Some baked beans and we'll be set for tonight. The butt is for my wife's bingo buddies later this week. I'll pull the meat with my drill powered puller so they can do sandwiches or stuffed baked potatoes

Well, my wife got sick and had to go to the Dr yesterday. Came home and I was taking care of her so I didn't get a chance to take any pics. Since we weren't going to eat what I was smoking last night I took the ribs off after 4 hours of smoke, wrapped them up and put them in the fridge for later when I can grill them and put a little bark on them. The butt came off about 10pm last night. I let it cool then deboned it and then used my electric drill pork puller which made short work of the meat. Bagged it then in the fridge. She was feeling better this afternoon so I made homemade potato salad, baked beans in the oven and put the ribs on the gas grill to glaze them with homemade bbq sauce. It was a feast for sure.

Glad your wife is feeling better. Everything sounds like it was finished off perfectly. Good save. :)  We will expect pics next time  ;) ;)

Man that sucks!

The same thing happened this past Friday. I did prime Rib & Sour Cream & Onion Mashed potatoes on the smoker,  homemade bread, only to have the wife come home sick from work and go to bed  :'(.

Glad your wife's better and you were both able to enjoy your feast later! Even without pics, you sure made it sound good. :)
