I've hosted a few steak cookouts for friends over the years and always have a lot of fun.  However, I always dread two things that inevitably happen:  One, somebody wants theirs "burned" or asks for ketchup.  Sometimes its the same person  ???

I have developed some skill at cooking a steak to "well done" without dehydrating it totally, but I still cringe inside when I see somebody slather on ketchup or steak sauce without at least tasting the meat first.

A well done steak with ketchup is better than no steak at all... I think.  I will admit to putting ketchup on a steak that is already ruined.
