Avoiding the Health/Safety Risks of Wire Grill Brushes
« Reply #-1 on: June 12, 2015, 10:06:18 AM »
We've all heard some of the scary effects of inadvertently swallowing wire bristles from a grill brush. It can be life-threatening!  I stopped using my wire brushes on grill parts where food will be, ex. grids, Grill Grates etc. Until they are worn I still use them on my grills BELOW the grids where food will not come in contact with stray loose bristles.
For grids, grates etc. I've been using cut up stripper pads from a janitorial supply. The cost is about 6 bucks for at least a years worth of cleaning by cutting the pads into handy sizes. Yesterday while at Home Depot I found a scrubber with an 18" handle that is under $5.00. With the long handle it's easier to put the muscle to stubborn burnt-on food. It's made by Brinkman.

Yep in with all the accessories Mike. It seems like it's pretty sturdy. I think a nice buy.  :-\
