Milts Rosemary Apricot Pellets
« Reply #-1 on: January 02, 2016, 12:38:55 PM »
I'm going to smoke a mess of cheese today. ...last chance for awhile. Dropping temps!  >:(
I came across 3 bags of rosemary-apricot pellets in the garage this morning. Has anyone used this blend to coldsmoke their cheese?

Yes it's a shame Milt went out of business! His pellets/products were top shelf!
I'd hate to use the pellets on cheese and find out it was a bad idea when I could have used them on some fabulous grilled chicken! Was hoping ti hear if anyone tried this flavor on cheese.

Gene,
I would go for it.  Rosemary and apricot should do really well with any cheeses.  I love using the fruit woods for cold smoking cheese.  If the weather stays cold for a while, I have some pellet flavors I want to try with cheese.  More on that later.

Rosemary and apricot sound like a great combo . i found that the problem with smoking cheese is the long wait for it to mature . ;)

That wait is the hardest part of the whole process my friend!

It is supposed to get really cold early this week here.  I need to buy some cheese to smoke, quickly.  This was one of the reasons I bought the Red Box Smoker.  Time to find out if it was a good buy.
