Moving a Mak 2 Star
« Reply #-1 on: September 25, 2019, 02:23:13 PM »
So I'd like to move my Mak to my cabin where it will get a lot more use. I do not have a truck off any kind. Only a minivan. As it has been a few years since I put it together I don't remember how it comes apart.
Would laying it on its back be a bad idea?

Any help is appreciated.

If you remove the internal parts I don’t think you’d have any issues with laying it on its back. That said, I’d probably call MAK and ask their opinion.

Remove the internal parts, tie/bungee the lid closed, and it'll lay down and travel just fine.

Hey Pappy, not sure if you've made the move yet, but your MAK should transport pretty easily. I'd remove the cooking chamber from the leg assembly, and break down the leg assembly. You can also remove the warmer/smoker box and slide it into the cooking chamber. That will make your 2-Star highly portable!

If you have any more questions, feel free to give us a call at 503-623-1234.

Sorry if this is too late, we've been busy around here. Good luck!
